It had been a long-held ambition of successful florist Carol Pike's to take what was on offer in the way of training for Scottish florists to a new level.

Having worked for several years in the more conventional college arena as a trainer, and more recently for Interflora as training manager, she was well aware that there was a market for good basic floristry training and also for top-end designer events North of the Border.

The Scottish School of Floristry operates a relaxed timetable of events, workshops and demonstrations tailored both for florists and for those with a keen interest in the top end of floral design for the home. Anyone looking to immerse themselves in the more creative aspects of working with flowers will be delighted with the experience and training now available at St. George's Studios in Glasgow.

Co-founder, Carole Dunlop (left in pic from 1995) has spent her working life in the media and design industries and takes on the business and communications side of the school as an exciting and fresh start.

We've been close friends for almost twenty-five years and are confident that the combination of our skills create the perfect package that will allow us to deliver top-class training and also really enjoyable days that our clients will remember!"

Richard Haslam, NDSF, AIFD a reknowned, inspirational designer from Ireland was the first guest demonstrator at the school and his two wire-work wedding workshop days were a great success.

Richard says, "This is a new and exciting development for Scotland's florists and indeed for anyone with a real passion for flowers.
